GAME GUIDE

Quests

At levels 15, 30 and 45 players may attempt class-specific quests. Unless otherwise stated, players should complete these quests on their own.

Upon completion of the quest, players are awarded with special items. These expeditions are fairly difficult and we do not guarantee successful completion the first time you try, or when they are attempted at the minimum qualifying level (15, 30, etc.).

Some players might want to gain a few levels (for instance, try the level 15 Wizard quest at level 17 or higher) before attempting them. When to attempt the quests, however, is up to you.

Some items collected during quests may be obtained more than once, but cannot be dropped or traded.

Players can, however, sell certain additional quest items (like trading documents or ghoul nails) to NPC merchants in each town for a small amount of adena. Items given by a quest-related NPC may not be attained more than once.

Please be sure to read each NPC's conversation and instructions carefully during these quests. If you do not, you could miss out on information, which could hinder you from completing the quest. Exhaust all NPC dialog boxes before moving forward.

Note! You must complete these quests in order. The level 15 quest must be completed before you are eligible to attempt the level 30 quest (even if you are over level 30).

Level 15

Knight

Goal: Earn a red knight's hood

At level 15, any Knight can go visit Ricky, a reformed black knight, in Silver Knight Town to find out about the quest he gives. This quest has two parts, requiring you to visit more than one NPC to complete it.

Wizard

Goal: Earn a book of magical powers

Wizards at level 15 and above may speak with Jem on Talking Island to take a quest. This quest has two parts and involves proving your skills by confronting undead creatures.

Prince

Goal: Earn a red cloak and the true target Prince-only spellbook

Princes and Princesses interested in taking the level 15 quest for their class should see Zero in Kent. This quest also has two parts and ends in Talking Island. Once you have the True Target spellbook, you may learn the spell in Gunter's presence.

Elf

Goal: Earn a helm of dexterity or helm of constitution (your choice!)

Elves above level 15 and interested in taking a quest should visit Oth in Fire-Field Farmer's Town. When traveling there, remember to be careful of the tribal orcs in the area!

Dark Elf

Goal: Earn your first quest spell and a shadow mask

Begin this quest by visiting Kan, in Silent Cavern Village. He will give you instructions on what you need to do to acquire his reward.

Level 30

Remember: Quests must be completed in order — you must complete the level 15 quest before attempting these quests. Also, level 30 is the minimum qualifying level.

Knight

Goal: Save Jim and earn a shield of red knight.

Miscellaneous equipment needed: scroll of polymorph

This quest has many parts and takes you to several locations, but starts at the Oasis. Visit Mark, who is near the NPC merchant Ashur, to begin this quest. In your travels, you are expected to slay a number of monsters and gather certain items in order to find Mark's friend, Jim, and lift the curse he suffers under.

Note! At some point you will need to polymorph into a skeleton. When you do, you must restart the client in order for your character to be recognized in polymorph.

Wizard

Goal: Defeat the betrayer and earn a crystal staff

Miscellaneous equipment needed: magic gems and 100,000 adena

This quest has many parts, but starts with Gereng on Talking Island. You may use many spells during this quest, but will want to concentrate on the Turn Undead and Cancel Magic spells. No armor or weaponry may be used in the Wizard quest. Killing monsters in close proximity to you is more dangerous but more rewarding.

Toward the end of this quest you will be asked to give Gereng a bone of undead and a mystery crystal ball. The second item may be purchased from Orim in the mainland dungeon.

Note! The crystal staff's full benefits are realized upon wielding the staff - players do not have to invest in scrolls of enchant weapon to see the benefit of this item. While it may be enchanted, it does not have to be. This is why Wizards are asked to invest in a mystery crystal ball for the quest. Other classes do not have to do so, but they also need to enchant their quest items to realize their full potential.

Prince

Goal: Recover the relics of the people of Woodbec and be rewarded with a sovereign's majesty cloakand a call pledge member spellbook.

Miscellaneous equipment needed: 3 scrolls of polymorph

This quest has several parts, but starts with Aria in Woodbec. You may learn the Call Pledge spell at the location you receive it (and once it is available).

Note! You will search for certain creatures and will need to polymorph so that you can communicate with them. When you do, you must restart the client in order for your character to be recognized in polymorph.

Elf

Goal: Rid the Elven Forest of Darkmar, a supremely evil Elven Wizard, and earn a summon lesser elemental spirit crystal and an Elven t-shirt.

Miscellaneous equipment needed: None

This quest starts with the Mother of the Forest and Elves in the Elven Village. You must try to find Darkmar in one of his various dens in the Elven Forest. Upon completion of the quest, the Mother Tree will give you a treasure. Open it to claim your prize.

Dark Elf

Goal: Kill Dark Elf traitors to earn another quest spell and shadow gloves.

Miscellaneous equipment needed: none

This quest also has many parts and takes you to several locations throughout Aden. Begin the quest by visiting Ronde in Silent Cavern. You must first find a "corrupt guard" and get his secret list. To find the traitors, you must find a special mark on the ground and bring the target hit to you by mesmerizing them with an ancient incantation. When you have assassinated all traitors or have received a death covenant, you should return to Ronde, who will give you a reward.

Note! If you kill all traitors and do not receive a death covenant, visit Ronde to receive the ancient incantation sorcery and try again.

Level 45

Remember: Quests must be completed in order — you must complete the level 30 quest before attempting these quests. Also, level 45 is the minimum qualifying level.

Knight

Goal: Find a piece of Scout's report and receive a belt of bravery

Miscellaneous equipment needed: none

Find Marshall in Werldern to begin the level 45 Knight quest. You may need a friend who knows magic to help you during the quest.

Wizard

Goal: Obtain the record of the ancient devil and receive a cloak of mana and wisdom of the ancient people gemstone

Miscellaneous equipment needed: cancel magic spellbook and bless of Eva potion

The level 45 Wizard quest begins in the Ivory Tower when the candidate visits Talass. Upon completion, Talass will give you a magic bag. Open it to reveal your rewards.

Note! Those who play on LoA must use an ancient magic crystal during this quest instead of a cancel magic spellbook. Please refer to our website for more information on LoA.

Prince

Goal: Recover the emblem of the royal family and receive a ring of protection.

This quest begins in Werldern town and requires travel throughout Aden. Find Marshall to start the quest. You will be asked to find the royal emblem, which may or may not be in one piece. The rewards of this quest are tremendous for a sovereign. Once the quest is complete your original charisma value is multiplied by 6, and once you hit level 50 your original charisma value is automatically multiplied by 9. Imagine the army!!!!

Note! This quest requires the sacrifice and assistance of a (minimum level 45) Knight, an Elf, and a Wizard from your Blood Pledge.

Elf

Goal: Receive a summon greater elemental special spirit crystal, gloves of protection, and a bow of the ancients

Miscellaneous equipment needed: none

This quest begins in Werldern when you talk to Marshall. It will take you many places throughout Aden. Beware: killing certain monsters in this quest may cause you to lose a significant amount of lawful points. Only kill those you really must - if you move into chaotic alignment during the process, you will not be able to complete the quest until you regain your lawful status.

Return an ancient harp to Marshall for your rewards.

Note! Be sure to complete this quest alone. Even being a member of a party will prevent the completion of this quest.

Dark Elf

Goal: Attain an overseer's document to earn your third quest spell and shadow boots.

Miscellaneous equipment needed: scroll of polymorph

Begin this quest by visiting Ronde. He will refer you to an elder named Bludika. You have to find Bludika to get the quest's instructions. You will be required to visit with a few more NPCs, and to seek out an Assassin Master, who holds the overseer's document that Bludika requires. You will have to pose as an assassin in order to get the information you need. The quest ends when you visit Bludika with the overseer's document.

Note! At some point you will need to polymorph into an assassin. When you do, you must restart the client in order for your character to be recognized in polymorph.

Level 50+

Remember: you must complete the level 15, 30 and 45 quests before attempting this quest. Also, level 50 is the minimum level allowed. Waiting until you are a higher level is recommended.

Varlok Quest

Goal: Slay the evil creature Varlok — a horrible monster who is resurrecting with the single purpose of plunging the world into darkness.

Miscellaneous Equipment Needed: Items received in the level 45 quest and cancel magic scrolls (for those who cannot cast cancel magic).

This quest begins when you visit Dicarding in the Ivory Tower. Only parties consisting of a Prince, Wizard, Knight and Elf may begin the quest. Each party member must be level 50 or over. The party should stay close together when going through doorways throughout the quest.

Upon successful completion of this quest, each member of the party will receive a special reward. Just take the quest items you receive to Dicarding when Varlok is bested.

Note! This quest is very complex. Some creatures you run into will not be killed by ordinary means. Additionally, make sure you only do the quest with players you really trust.
