Game Guide Contest Round 2!

We are starting our second round of the game guide contest. We have added a new component this time - video!

Prizes

If your guide is a winner, the prize for this round is an added enchantment level to the weapon of your choice! You can choose one tradeable item that you currently own, trade it to GMNyx or GMJetzen, and they will trade you back a version with an additional +1 enchant of the same item!

Contest Dates

Contest starts July 30, 2010 and runs through September 1, 2010. This is to give everywhere who wants to participate ample time to develop a good guide!

Here is what we want from you:

1) Write a guide designed to help new players learn a particular aspect of the game. Guides we are looking for include (but are not limited to) guides on starting a new character for each class, crafting, quest guides, areas to level in by level and class, etc. Each guide MUST submit a supporting video of some kind that would assist players in understanding the guide.

2) In order to qualify, guides must be:
Detailed and specific including, without limitation, NPC names and locations, item names, locations where items can be obtained, etc. There is no specific word requirement or limit, but simplistic guides with not enough information will not be considered.

Spell-checked

Must include all relevant information about the topic presented in such a way that someone who has never played the game before could understand it.

Should include appropriate screenshots.

Must have a link to a video of your creation that is no longer than 5 minutes that would help players understand the information contained in the guide.

You may use any recording software and any hosting website that you like. Hypercam and YouTube are both free to use, but you may use the software and hosting site of your choice.
3) No foul language, inappropriate content, game bugs, exploits or errors will be permitted.

4) Your submission must not infringe any patent, copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right, or any privacy, publicity, or publishing rights of any third party, or be libelous, obscene, or otherwise contrary to law.

5) Email your guide as a Word document to nyx@ncsoft.com and include the link to the video.

6) Send an email to nyx@ncsoft.com that includes your name (first and last), age, location (city, state/province, country), a valid email address and the following statements:
If I am a winner, I permit NC Interactive, Inc. and NCsoft Europe Limited to use my name, likeness, photograph, hometown, and any comments that I may make about myself or this contest that I provide for advertising and promotional activities.
By submitting an entry to this contest, I accept and agree to be bound by the Lineage® Game Guide Contest Official Rules and Conditions.

7) You may enter as many times as you wish. You only need to submit one email rather than one for each entry; provided, however, that you must state such e-mail covers all of your submissions related to this Contest. Your forum account and game account must be in good standing in order to participate; provided, however, that a player may only win once.

Official Terms and Conditions

This contest is organized by NC Interactive, Inc. and NCsoft Europe Limited, who are identified in more detail in Section 9 of this document (the "Sponsors").

1. ENTRY

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. IF YOU ARE ENTERING THIS CONTEST AS A RESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA THIS CONTEST SHALL BE VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY UNITED STATES LAW.

This is a skill based contest based on the correctness, usefulness, and overall presentation of the entry.

Participants must follow this method of entry:

The use of copyrighted material or trade marks NOT owned by the Sponsors or yourself is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Your submission must not infringe any patent, copyright, trademark or other intellectual property right, or any privacy, publicity or publishing rights of any third party, or be libelous, obscene or otherwise contrary to law.

If you are a winner you hereby give Sponsors and their respective divisions, subsidiaries, affiliates, and agencies full permission, right and authority to use your likeness, photograph, name, hometown, and any comments that you may make/answer to questions Sponsors may provide, or any other information that you provide about yourself, the prize, the Contest, or Lineage, for the purposes of advertising and promotion (in any media, including but not limited to in print media, television, film, video, radio, internet or otherwise) related to the Contest, Lineage or each of the Sponsors, without any further notification or compensation to you other than that set out herein. Winner waives all rights of inspection and approval in relation to the foregoing.

All entries must be received via e-mail as noted in Section 1(6) above and posted to the forums by 11:59 pm Pacific Time on September 1, 2010, (the "Contest Conclusion") and must be in English. Entries which do not conform to these Official Rules and Conditions will not be accepted.

The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, incorrect, unintelligible or misdirected entries, which will be void. Use of a false name, mailing address, or email account will disqualify an entry and the individual who submitted the entry. Use of obscenities, racist, sexist, hateful or other material or depictions that, in Sponsor's judgment, are inappropriate or offensive, will disqualify an entry. Sponsor is not responsible for hardware or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, server unavailability due to technical, capacity constraints or other issues, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic or other communications. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, can disqualify, from this Contest and/or any other contest conducted by Sponsor, any person who, in Sponsor's reasonable suspicion, tampers with the entry process or the operation of the web site. Sponsor has the right to terminate, suspend or modify this Contest, in whole or in part, at any time and without prior notice, if, in Sponsor's judgment, the Contest is altered, corrupted or cannot be completed as planned due to computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, technical failures, or other conditions beyond Sponsor's control, or at Sponsor's reasonable discretion. Incomplete entries are invalid, and entrants with incomplete entries will be disqualified.

2. ELIGIBILITY

To enter the contest, as of July 30, 2010 (a) you must be 13 years of age or older, (b) if you are a minor in your country of residence, you must provide the entry as set forth under 1 with your legal guardian's approval and you must provide written approval of your entry to the Contest, and consent to these Official Rules and Conditions by your legal guardian (This written approval shall be provided within 14 days after the receipt of request by the Sponsor), (c) you must have Internet access, an email account and access to a personal computer, and (d) you must be a resident of the United States (excluding the State of Rhode Island, and excluding Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, military installations and commonwealths), Canada (excluding Quebec) (Canadian residents will be required to answer an additional mathematical question in order to claim their prizes), or the European Union.

Employees of Sponsor, and Sponsor's respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives, advertising, promotion and publicity agencies and members of the immediate families (defined as parents, children, siblings and spouse, regardless of where they reside) or households of such employees are not eligible to enter the Contest.

3. DURATION

The contest period begins at 9:00 AM (Pacific Time) on Friday, July 30, 2010 and ends at 11:59 PM (Pacific Time) on Wednesday, September 1, 2010.

4. SELECTION OF WINNING ENTRIES

The winning entries will be determined by representatives of each Sponsor and will be judged equally on the following criteria: creativity, difficulty, and overall presentation. Winners will be notified via e-mail and announced on the Lineage web site on or about Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Any and all decisions of the judges, shall be final and binding in all respects.

5. PRIZES

1) Prizes description

The prize breakdown is as follows:

Ten (10) Grand Prize Winners Will Each Receive:

The opportunity to have one item currently owned by the Winner increased by one enchant level in-game - this would only apply to tradeable items since the player would have to trade their item to either GMNyx or GMJetzen who would then trade them back a version that is an additional +1 enchant. (Estimate Retail Value $0.00)

One (1) Official Lineage T-shirt (Estimated Retail Value $25.00)

Estimated Total Prize package value: $25.00

2) Prizes awarding process

If a winner cannot be contacted via the email address associated with their forum account, or is successfully contacted by Sponsor and:

(i) does not sign and return to Sponsors within the time indicated, a Contract of Assignment in the form reproduced in Section 10 (or, in Canada, a Declaration of Compliance with Contest Rules); or

(ii) refuses or is ineligible to accept the prize,

then Sponsor reserves the right to award the prize to the next highest ranking entrant (a "Substitute Winner").

The Substitute Winner will be contacted as mentioned above and required to comply with the prizes awarding process described in this Section 5(2).

In the event the Substitute Winner cannot be contacted as mentioned above or does not comply with the prizes awarding process described in this Section 5(2) for a given prize, any such prize will not be awarded. Prizes are not transferable. No substitution of the prize for cash or other goods and services is permitted, except Sponsor reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of approximately equal value. Taxes on prizes (including, without limitation, income taxes), if any, are the sole responsibility of the individual winners. If a winner is under 18 or a minor in his or her state/province/country of residence, his or her parent or guardian must also sign any applicable releases and documentation.

Winners will have their entries and forum nickname posted on the Lineage web site (http://www.lineage.com). To showcase the competition winners, those who have reached the age of 18 may be asked to answer some questions, provide certain personal information or to send Sponsor a personal headshot photo but such winners will also be given an opportunity to decline to give such information without affecting his/her eligibility of the prize.

6. GENERAL CONDITIONS

By entering into the Contest, you:

(b) agree to assign to each Sponsor all rights, title and interest, including, without limitation, copyright, if transferable, in or to your entry in the case that your entry is one of the winning entries. If you are not a winner, you hereby grant each Sponsor a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, broadcast, license, post, sell, translate, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the entry for any purpose whatsoever, commercial or otherwise, in any medium now known or hereafter devised, without compensation or credit to you. You also hereby grant each user of Lineage and Sponsors' websites (collectively, the "Sites") a non-exclusive license to access your entry through the Sites, and to use, reproduce, distribute, display and perform such entry as permitted through the functionality of the Sites. The above licenses granted by entrant are perpetual and irrevocable.

(d) agree to sign the documentation set forth in Section 5 above (and have your parent or guardian sign such documentation where applicable or requested by Sponsor), in the case that your entry is one of the winning entries.

Entries will not be returned. By submitting an entry, you agree that Sponsor may incorporate your entry in part or in its entirety on the Official Lineage Web Site (http://www.lineage.com) at anytime during or after the Contest along with your user or forum name (or real name) and city/state or province/country of residence if you are 18 years of age or older or if your legal guardians have confirmed your participation.

Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may edit and modify any submission before posting.

You waive the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages. Except where prohibited, you agree that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved under the laws of the State of Washington. You assume sole liability for injuries, including personal injuries and/or damage to property or prize, caused or claimed to be caused by participating in this contest or the acceptance, loss, shipment, or use of any prize awarded. Sponsor is not responsible for any failure to contact entrants, whether due to technical or human error. All of Sponsor's decisions regarding the application and interpretation of the Rules are final.

In the even that you are resident in the European Union, nothing in these Official Rules and Conditions shall limit or exclude Sponsor's liability for death or personal injury from Sponsor's negligence or fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to the foregoing, the Sponsors shall not be responsible for any liability, loss, damage, cost or expense sustained by you arising out of, or in connection, with your entry into this Contest or use of the prize unless caused by the Sponsors due to gross negligence or intent.

7. WINNERS LIST

The winners of this Contest will be posted on http://www.lineage.com no later than Wednesday, September 15, 2010. A list of winners can also be obtained by sending a self addressed stamped envelope to Lineage Game Guide Contest, NC Interactive, Inc., 1501 4th Ave. Floor 20. Seattle, WA 98101, USA. Residents of Canada may omit return postage.

8. Severability

Should any condition contained in this Contract prove unenforceable, void or incomplete, the validity of the other conditions will remain unaffected.

FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS ASSIGNMENT, "INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS" SHALL MEAN (I) PATENTS, RIGHTS TO INVENTIONS, COPYRIGHT AND RELATED RIGHTS, TRADE MARKS, TRADE NAMES AND DOMAIN NAMES, RIGHTS IN GET-UP, RIGHTS IN GOODWILL OR TO SUE FOR PASSING OFF, RIGHTS IN DESIGNS, RIGHTS IN COMPUTER SOFTWARE, DATABASE RIGHTS AND ANY OTHER INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS, IN EACH CASE WHETHER REGISTERED OR UNREGISTERED AND INCLUDING ALL APPLICATIONS (OR RIGHTS TO APPLY) FOR, AND RENEWALS OR EXTENSIONS OF, SUCH RIGHTS AND ALL SIMILAR OR EQUIVALENT RIGHTS OR FORMS OF PROTECTION WHICH MAY NOW OR IN THE FUTURE SUBSIST IN ANY PART OF THE WORLD; (II) THE RIGHT TO DISPLAY THE SUBMISSION ON ANY OF NCSOFT'S WEBSITES, MAKE IT AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD AND TO MODIFY THE SUBMISSION; (III) THE SUBMISSION'S LANGUAGE, ITS ENVIRONMENT, ITS MEDIA STORAGE OR INSTALLATION, COMPRISING ALL ECONOMICAL RIGHTS OF THE SUBMISSION INCLUDING, THE REPRODUCTION RIGHT AND ITS DIVISIONS, SUCH AS THE RIGHT TO USE, ADAPT AND TRANSPOSE THE SUBMISSION, THE RIGHT OF PUBLIC PERFORMANCE AND USE OF THE SUBMISSION, THE DISTRIBUTION, INTERFACING AND INTEGRATION OF THE SUBMISSION INTO NCSOFT'S OWN RANGE OF PRODUCTS OR THIRD PARTIES' PRODUCTS, FOR ANY PLATFORM WHATSOEVER, TO PRODUCE AND TO MARKET THE SUBMISSION THROUGH VARIOUS CHANNELS ON ANY MEDIUM, INCLUDING LICENSING OR RESALE, INCLUDING COMMERCIAL USE, DISTRIBUTION BY DOWNLOADING, OR ANY DISTRIBUTION PROCESS THAT ALLOWS THE SUBMISSION OR ITS ADAPTATIONS, IN WHATEVER FORM, TO BE DELIVERED TO THE PUBLIC, E.G. IN ANY PRINTED FORM (INCLUDING MAGAZINES, NEWSPAPERS, T-SHIRTS OR ANY OTHER TEXTILES, DOCUMENTATION, MUGS), ON ANY TANGIBLE STORAGE (INCLUDING DISKETTE, HARD DISK, OPTICAL DISC, BLU-RAY, DVD, CD-ROM, FLASH MEMORY CARDS, ANY ELECTRONIC MEDIA).

5. WAIVER OF MORAL RIGHTS. SUBJECT TO SECTION 6, WINNER HEREBY IRREVOCABLY WAIVES ALL OF HIS/HER MORAL RIGHTS AND RIGHTS OF A SIMILAR NATURE WHETHER NOW EXISTING OR HEREAFTER CONFERRED UNDER THE LAWS OF ANY JURISDICTION IN THE SUBMISSION, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW, AND SHALL NOT INSTITUTE, SUPPORT OR MAINTAIN ANY ACTION ON THE GROUND THAT ANY USE BY NCSOFT CONSTITUTES AN INFRINGEMENT OF ANY MORAL RIGHTS OR SIMILAR RIGHTS.

6. TO THE EXTENT ANY APPLICABLE LEGAL SYSTEM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO GERMANY, DOES NOT ACCEPT THE CONCEPT OF "WORK-MADE-FOR-HIRE", THE TRANSFER OF THE COPYRIGHT ITSELF AND/OR MORAL RIGHTS THEMSELVES, WINNER HEREBY TRANSFERS, CONVEYS AND ASSIGNS TO NCSOFT ANY AND ALL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS, ASIDE FROM THE COPYRIGHT ITSELF AND THE MORAL RIGHTS THEMSELVES, IN AND TO THE SUBMISSION, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY AND ALL DERIVATIVE WORKS, AND THE RIGHTS FOR THE WORLDWIDE EXPLOITATION AND UTILIZATION IN ALL KNOWN AND UNKNOWN TYPES OF MEDIA AND FOR ALL KNOWN OR UNKNOWN KINDS OF USE. INSOFAR AS THE AFORESAID TRANSFER MAY NOT BE FEASIBLE BY LAW, WINNER HEREBY GRANTS TO NCSOFT AT LEAST AN EXCLUSIVE WORLDWIDE PERPETUAL RIGHT AND LICENSE IN AND TO THE AFORESAID RIGHTS FOR ANY AND ALL TYPES OF USE WHETHER KNOWN OR YET TO BE DETERMINED FOR AN OVERALL EXPLOITATION AND UTILIZATION IN ANY MODALITY, THROUGH ANY SALES CHANNEL AND IN ANY TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION. AS FAR AS THE MORAL RIGHTS ARE CONCERNED NCSOFT MAY NOT MAKE USE OF THE MORAL RIGHTS OF WINNER IN ANY WAY THAT IS CONSIDERED UNREASONABLE.

7. FURTHER ACTS. Season 3, Episode 1 Patch Notes

The following changes and additions will go to PTS on Thursday, July 29:

Introduction of Dragon Knight Class and Illusionist Class

New magic skills have been added for the new classes - spellbooks can be purchased from some NPC's, some are available as drops and others are quest rewards.

Dragon Knight will start from Singing Island and Illusionist will start from Hidden Valley.

2 new characters slots have been added, 2 additional character slots are available for special events.

New weapons are available for the new classes.

Level 15, 30, 45, and 50 quests have been added for the new classes.

Both new classes can use Sharna's Polymorph Scrolls. They will retain their original appearance.

Most teleporters will now teleport you to Behimous (zone for Dragon Knights) and Silveria (zone for Illusionists). A special teleporter will take new Dragon Knights and new Illusionsits to these zones from Hidden Valley and Singing Island at no charge.

Thebes Dungeon

New dungeon has been added consisting of three parts - Thebes Desert, Thebes Pyramid, and Thebes Osiris Altar Room.

Monsters in the Thebes Desert range from level 23 to level 50.

Monsters in the Thebes Pyramid range from level 50 to level 60.

Bosses in the Altar Room are level 70.

Joe's Stone Golem has been added to the new Thebes map. He will exchange 100 Fragments of Time for a Cracked Nucleus that is needed to open the treasure chest of Osiris.

Entrance to the Thebes map is gained through the Crack of Time. When the Crack appears a server-wide announcement is made. The Crack appears in one of ten locations.

Once the Crack is open, players have two and a half hours to locate the Crack and advance through the dungeon to the Altar Room. Monsters in this area will drop a Thebes Osiris Altar Key. Everyone wishing to enter the Altar Room must have their own key.

Twenty people (with a key) are allowed into the Altar Room to meet the two bosses spawned there. Players have thirty minutes to defete these bosses. If the bosses are defeated, the Crack will remain open for 24 hours. If they are not defeated, everyone is teleported out.

New Enchanting Systems

Shiren in Aden now sells enchant scrolls for elemental enchanting and accessory enchanting.

Elemental enchanting can give you additional damage for wind, earth, water, or fire. When elemental enchanting fails, there is no possibility for the item to blow up.

Accessory enchanting works similarly to current weapon and armor enchanting. When accessory enchanting fails, there is the possibility for the item to blow up.

Novice Area Revamped

Talking Scroll Quest for new players has been revamped.

Training dungeon has been updated with new quests, monsters, and bosses.

An NPC in each village will assist new players in choosing a hunting area appropriate for their level.

Miscellaneous

Level 50 quest updated.

3rd stage cooking recipes have been added and the required ingredients have been added as monster drops.

New music and sound effects have been added.

The Help Menu and the Options Menu have been revised.

Our 4th of July Event - The Dwarfs Fight for Freedom - begins after maintenance on June 30.

An Evil Sorcerer is looking to set up a base of operations in Fire Valley. He's been seen snooping around the Dwarf Cave. He's looking for a nice, new home for his despicable experiments. The Dwarf Cave is inviting - a few renovations and he could be quite happy there. But how to get the Dwarfs to go away with a minimal amount of effort?

The sorcerer uses his dark arts to enslave an army of Black Ents to wage war upon the Dwarfs. Units of Black Ents repeatedly attack the Dwarf Encampment, but through considerable effort the Dwarfs are holding their own.

How can you help the Dwarfs? Some of the Black Ents have been disguised as Dwarfs and are running amok on the Mainland. But be warned, these disguised Ents have a few tricks up their sleeve! Your mission is to kill as many of these infiltrators as possible and you shall be rewarded for your deeds! The imposters are drawn by curiosity to footsteps, so walking anywhere on the mainland will be sure to draw them out!

The Dwarfs know that this siege upon them will be alleviated as soon adventurers like you respond to their call for help. In anticipation of their liberation from this war, they are crafting Freedom Cloaks that will aid in the extermination of this evil! Will you help the Dwarfs in their fight for freedom?

The Evil Sorcerer is not to be put off so lightly. He too wishes to entice helpers. He realizes his army is dwindling in strength. To rebuild, he requires the branches and apples of the fallen Ents. Bring these to him for rewards!

Spring is in the air and the Goddess of Flowers, Flora, has looked down upon the lands of Aden and determined that its inhabitants are in need of some floral festivity! Join Flora and her assistant Mimosa as they spread their Spring cheer across the land!

The 2010 Festival of Flowers has arrived! Flora, the Goddess of Flowers, and her assistant Mimosa have some fun and exciting items for you! As Flora looked down upon the Land of Aden, she determined that something needed to be done to spice things up a bit. So, she crafted some very powerful, mystical weapons!. Unfortunately, the magic within them is so great that they can only be held together on this earthly plane for a short period of time. You will have a variety of these to choose from but be aware that once the festival is over, Flora must reclaim the weapons. They are much too powerful to remain in the hands of mortals for too long!

Flora will give you the weapon of your choice, and your goal is to gather Bouquets of Flowers for her. All monsters have the possibility to drop these Bouquets as well as some candy to help you along your journey. Gather Bouquets and bring them back to Flora's assistant Mimosa to receive a special prize. The prizes Mimosa has waiting for you are also very powerful. With careful magic construction, they will remain intact for you to use for several weeks, but be forewarned that they can only defy the laws of physics for so long. As summer arrives, the power of these prizes will become too great for their earthly shells to contain them. Use your treats wisely for the time that you have them!

Flora has a wide variety of special weapons for you to choose from. She and her assistant Mimosa are located in Giran near the teleporter. She will sell you the weapon of your choice for 25,000 adena. You can purchase as many of these weapons as you like, but remember that they are only here for the week of the festival. They are made of Black Mithril so they do not safely enchant, but if you want to try your luck, you can always get a new one from her any time during the week. Here are the choices available.

While hunting with your beautiful weapon from Flora, monsters all over the Lands of Aden will drop some new items!
The first item to watch out for is the Bouquet of Flowers. Gather these bouquets to take back to Mimosa for a reward.

You will also encounter Spring Bags. These bags hold xp food of varying strengths. You may gather and use these however you wish. They will be available for use after the festival is over, but only until summer comes around and the magic binding them together fades!.

Gather your Flower Bouquets and return to Mimosa for a reward. She has 3 different amulets available, each one costs 75 Flower Bouquets. These are powerful amulets, so they will be available for use after the festival, but just like the xp food, the magic that holds them together will fade when summer rolls around so use them while you have them!

This contest is organized by NC Interactive, Inc. and NCsoft Europe Limited, who are identified in more detail in Section 9 of this document (the "Sponsors").

1. ENTRY

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. IF YOU ARE ENTERING THIS CONTEST AS A RESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA THIS CONTEST SHALL BE VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY UNITED STATES LAW.

This is a skill based contest based on the correctness, usefulness, and overall presentation of the entry.

Participants must follow this method of entry:

1) Write a guide designed to help new players learn a particular aspect of the game. If you are a winner you hereby give Sponsors and their respective divisions, subsidiaries, affiliates, and agencies full permission, right and authority to use your likeness, photograph, name, hometown, and any comments that you may make/answer to questions Sponsors may provide, or any other information that you provide about yourself, the prize, the Contest, or Lineage, for the purposes of advertising and promotion (in any media, including but not limited to in print media, television, film, video, radio, internet or otherwise) related to the Contest, Lineage or each of the Sponsors, without any further notification or compensation to you other than that set out herein. Winner waives all rights of inspection and approval in relation to the foregoing.

All entries must be received via e-mail as noted in Section 1(6) above and posted to the forums by 11:59 pm Pacific Time on May 7, 2010, (the "Contest Conclusion") and must be in English. Entries which do not conform to these Official Rules and Conditions will not be accepted.

2. ELIGIBILITY

To enter the contest, as of April 12, 2010 (a) you must be 13 years of age or older, (b) if you are a minor in your country of residence, you must provide the entry as set forth under 1 with your legal guardian's approval and you must provide written approval of your entry to the Contest, and consent to these Official Rules and Conditions by your legal guardian (This written approval shall be provided within 14 days after the receipt of request by the Sponsor), (c) you must have Internet access, an email account and access to a personal computer, and (d) you must be a resident of the United States (excluding the State of Rhode Island, and excluding Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, military installations and commonwealths), Canada (excluding Quebec) (Canadian residents will be required to answer an additional mathematical question in order to claim their prizes), or the European Union.

3. DURATION

The contest period begins at 9:00 AM (Pacific Time) on Monday, April 12, 2010 and ends at 11:59 PM (Pacific Time) on Friday, May 7, 2010.

4. SELECTION OF WINNING ENTRIES

The winning entries will be determined by representatives of each Sponsor and will be judged equally on the following criteria: creativity, difficulty, and overall presentation. Winners will be notified via e-mail and announced on the Lineage web site on or about Wednesday, May 19, 2010. Any and all decisions of the judges, shall be final and binding in all respects.

2) Prizes awarding process

If a winner cannot be contacted via the email address associated with their forum account, or is successfully contacted by Sponsor and:

(i) does not sign and return to Sponsors within the time indicated, a Contract of Assignment in the form reproduced in Section 10 (or, in Canada, a Declaration of Compliance with Contest Rules); or

(ii) refuses or is ineligible to accept the prize,

then Sponsor reserves the right to award the prize to the next highest ranking entrant (a "Substitute Winner").

The Substitute Winner will be contacted as mentioned above and required to comply with the prizes awarding process described in this Section 5(2).

6. GENERAL CONDITIONS

By entering into the Contest, you:

(a) warrant that your entry is your own original work and that it does not violate any rights of any third party (including, without limitation, any patent, copyright, trademark or other intellectual property right, or any privacy, publicity or publishing rights of any third party, or is libelous, obscene or otherwise contrary to law);
(b) agree to assign to each Sponsor all rights, title and interest, including, without limitation, copyright, if transferable, in or to your entry in the case that your entry is one of the winning entries. If you are not a winner, you hereby grant each Sponsor a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, broadcast, license, post, sell, translate, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the entry for any purpose whatsoever, commercial or otherwise, in any medium now known or hereafter devised, without compensation or credit to you. You also hereby grant each user of Lineage and Sponsors' websites (collectively, the "Sites") a non-exclusive license to access your entry through the Sites, and to use, reproduce, distribute, display and perform such entry as permitted through the functionality of the Sites. The above licenses granted by entrant are perpetual and irrevocable.
(c) agree to be contacted by Sponsor or its agents by telephone, mail or e-mail; and
(d) agree to sign the documentation set forth in Section 5 above (and have your parent or guardian sign such documentation where applicable or requested by Sponsor), in the case that your entry is one of the winning entries.

Entries will not be returned. If your entry is a winning entry, you agree that Sponsor may incorporate your entry in part or in its entirety on the Official Lineage Web Site (http://www.lineage.com) at anytime during or after the Contest along with your user or forum name (or real name) and city/state or province/country of residence if you are 18 years of age or older or if your legal guardians have confirmed your participation.

Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may edit and modify any submission before posting.

8. Severability

Should any condition contained in this Contract prove unenforceable, void or incomplete, the validity of the other conditions will remain unaffected.

WINNER FURTHER AGREES THAT IN ANY CAUSE OF ACTION, NCSOFT'S LIABILITY WILL BE LIMITED TO THE COST OF ENTERING AND PARTICIPATING IN THE CONTEST, AND IN NO EVENT SHALL NCSOFT BE LIABLE FOR ATTORNEY'S FEES. IF YOU ARE RESIDENT IN GERMANY, NOTHING OF THE AFOREMENTIONED SHALL LIMIT NCSOFT'S OR ANY OTHER PARTIES' LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL DAMAGES OR SUCH DAMAGES CAUSED BY GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR INTENT.
4. ASSIGNMENT. SUBJECT TO SECTION 6, WINNER HEREBY ASSIGNS, TRANSFER AND CONVEY UNTO NCSOFT ITS ENTIRE RIGHT, TITLE AND INTEREST IN AND TO THE SUBMISSION AND ALL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS RELATED THERETO TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS ASSIGNMENT, "INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS" SHALL MEAN (I) PATENTS, RIGHTS TO INVENTIONS, COPYRIGHT AND RELATED RIGHTS, TRADE MARKS, TRADE NAMES AND DOMAIN NAMES, RIGHTS IN GET-UP, RIGHTS IN GOODWILL OR TO SUE FOR PASSING OFF, RIGHTS IN DESIGNS, RIGHTS IN COMPUTER SOFTWARE, DATABASE RIGHTS AND ANY OTHER INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS, IN EACH CASE WHETHER REGISTERED OR UNREGISTERED AND INCLUDING ALL APPLICATIONS (OR RIGHTS TO APPLY) FOR, AND RENEWALS OR EXTENSIONS OF, SUCH RIGHTS AND ALL SIMILAR OR EQUIVALENT RIGHTS OR FORMS OF PROTECTION WHICH MAY NOW OR IN THE FUTURE SUBSIST IN ANY PART OF THE WORLD; (II) THE RIGHT TO DISPLAY THE SUBMISSION ON ANY OF NCSOFT'S WEBSITES, MAKE IT AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD AND TO MODIFY THE SUBMISSION; (III) THE SUBMISSION'S LANGUAGE, ITS ENVIRONMENT, ITS MEDIA STORAGE OR INSTALLATION, COMPRISING ALL ECONOMICAL RIGHTS OF THE SUBMISSION INCLUDING, THE REPRODUCTION RIGHT AND ITS DIVISIONS, SUCH AS THE RIGHT TO USE, ADAPT AND TRANSPOSE THE SUBMISSION, THE RIGHT OF PUBLIC PERFORMANCE AND USE OF THE SUBMISSION, THE DISTRIBUTION, INTERFACING AND INTEGRATION OF THE SUBMISSION INTO NCSOFT'S OWN RANGE OF PRODUCTS OR THIRD PARTIES' PRODUCTS, FOR ANY PLATFORM WHATSOEVER, TO PRODUCE AND TO MARKET THE SUBMISSION THROUGH VARIOUS CHANNELS ON ANY MEDIUM, INCLUDING LICENSING OR RESALE, INCLUDING COMMERCIAL USE, DISTRIBUTION BY DOWNLOADING, OR ANY DISTRIBUTION PROCESS THAT ALLOWS THE SUBMISSION OR ITS ADAPTATIONS, IN WHATEVER FORM, TO BE DELIVERED TO THE PUBLIC, E.G. IN ANY PRINTED FORM (INCLUDING MAGAZINES, NEWSPAPERS, T-SHIRTS OR ANY OTHER TEXTILES, DOCUMENTATION, MUGS), ON ANY TANGIBLE STORAGE (INCLUDING DISKETTE, HARD DISK, OPTICAL DISC, BLU-RAY, DVD, CD-ROM, FLASH MEMORY CARDS, ANY ELECTRONIC MEDIA).
5. WAIVER OF MORAL RIGHTS. SUBJECT TO SECTION 6, WINNER HEREBY IRREVOCABLY WAIVES ALL OF HIS/HER MORAL RIGHTS AND RIGHTS OF A SIMILAR NATURE WHETHER NOW EXISTING OR HEREAFTER CONFERRED UNDER THE LAWS OF ANY JURISDICTION IN THE SUBMISSION, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW, AND SHALL NOT INSTITUTE, SUPPORT OR MAINTAIN ANY ACTION ON THE GROUND THAT ANY USE BY NCSOFT CONSTITUTES AN INFRINGEMENT OF ANY MORAL RIGHTS OR SIMILAR RIGHTS.
6. TO THE EXTENT ANY APPLICABLE LEGAL SYSTEM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO GERMANY, DOES NOT ACCEPT THE CONCEPT OF "WORK-MADE-FOR-HIRE", THE TRANSFER OF THE COPYRIGHT ITSELF AND/OR MORAL RIGHTS THEMSELVES, WINNER HEREBY TRANSFERS, CONVEYS AND ASSIGNS TO NCSOFT ANY AND ALL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS, ASIDE FROM THE COPYRIGHT ITSELF AND THE MORAL RIGHTS THEMSELVES, IN AND TO THE SUBMISSION, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY AND ALL DERIVATIVE WORKS, AND THE RIGHTS FOR THE WORLDWIDE EXPLOITATION AND UTILIZATION IN ALL KNOWN AND UNKNOWN TYPES OF MEDIA AND FOR ALL KNOWN OR UNKNOWN KINDS OF USE. INSOFAR AS THE AFORESAID TRANSFER MAY NOT BE FEASIBLE BY LAW, WINNER HEREBY GRANTS TO NCSOFT AT LEAST AN EXCLUSIVE WORLDWIDE PERPETUAL RIGHT AND LICENSE IN AND TO THE AFORESAID RIGHTS FOR ANY AND ALL TYPES OF USE WHETHER KNOWN OR YET TO BE DETERMINED FOR AN OVERALL EXPLOITATION AND UTILIZATION IN ANY MODALITY, THROUGH ANY SALES CHANNEL AND IN ANY TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION. AS FAR AS THE MORAL RIGHTS ARE CONCERNED NCSOFT MAY NOT MAKE USE OF THE MORAL RIGHTS OF WINNER IN ANY WAY THAT IS CONSIDERED UNREASONABLE.
7. FURTHER ACTS. WINNER HEREBY UNDERTAKES TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS AND GIVE ALL ASSISTANCE AND DO ALL ACTS AND THINGS, AT THE EXPENSE OF NCSOFT AS MAY, IN THE OPINION OF NCSOFT, BE NECESSARY OR DESIRABLE TO VEST THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS IN AND OTHERWISE TO PROTECT AND MAINTAIN THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS IN AND TO THE SUBMISSION. SUCH COOPERATION BY THE WINNER SHALL INCLUDE PROMPT PRODUCTION OF PERTINENT FACTS AND DOCUMENTS, GIVING OF TESTIMONY, EXECUTION OF PETITIONS, OATHS, SPECIFICATIONS, DECLARATIONS OR OTHER PAPERS, AND OTHER ASSISTANCE ALL TO THE EXTENT DEEMED NECESSARY OR DESIRABLE BY THE PARTIES FOR PERFECTING IN NCSOFT THE RIGHT, TITLE AND INTEREST HEREIN CONVEYED.
8. WARRANTY. WINNER REPRESENTS AND WARRANTS TO NCSOFT THAT WINNER (I) IS THE SOLE OWNER OF ALL RIGHTS, TITLE AND INTEREST IN THE SUBMISSION AND THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS EMBODIED THEREIN, (II) HAS NOT ASSIGNED, TRANSFERRED, LICENSED, PLEDGED OR OTHERWISE ENCUMBERED THE SUBMISSION OR ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS EMBODIED THEREIN OR AGREED TO DO SO, (III) HAS FULL POWER AND AUTHORITY TO ENTER INTO THIS AGREEMENT AND TO MAKE THE ASSIGNMENT AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 3, (IV) IS NOT AWARE OF ANY VIOLATION, INFRINGEMENT OR MISAPPROPRIATION OF ANY THIRD PARTY'S RIGHTS (OR ANY CLAIM THEREOF) BY THE SUBMISSION OR THE EXPECTED USE BY NCSOFT THEREOF, AND (V) WAS NOT ACTING WITHIN THE SCOPE OF EMPLOYMENT BY ANY THIRD PARTY WHEN CONCEIVING, CREATING OR OTHERWISE PERFORMING ANY ACTIVITY WITH RESPECT TO ANYTHING PURPORTEDLY ASSIGNED IN SECTION 3.
9. NO AMENDMENT. THIS ASSIGNMENT MAY NOT BE VARIED, ALTERED, AMENDED OR SUPPLEMENTED, NOR MAY ANY OF ITS PROVISIONS BE WAIVED, EXCEPT BY A WRITING DULY EXECUTED BY WINNER AND NCSOFT.
10. ASSIGNMENT. THE TERMS AND COVENANTS OF THIS ASSIGNMENT SHALL INURE TO THE BENEFIT OF NCSOFT, ITS SUCCESSORS, ASSIGNS AND OTHER LEGAL REPRESENTATIVES, AND SHALL BE BINDING UPON THE WINNER, ITS SUCCESSORS, ASSIGNS AND OTHER LEGAL REPRESENTATIVES.
11. GOVERNING LAW. THIS ASSIGNMENT IS ENTERED INTO UNDER, AND SHALL BE GOVERNED FOR ALL PURPOSES BY, THE INTERNAL LAWS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON AS IF MADE AND ENTERED INTO BETWEEN TWO RESIDENTS OF THAT STATE. IN ANY ACTION OR PROCEEDING TO ENFORCE RIGHTS UNDER THIS ASSIGNMENT, THE PREVAILING PARTY SHALL BE ENTITLED TO RECOVER COSTS AND ATTORNEYS' FEES.
12. ACKNOWLEDGMENT. THE PARTIES HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY HAVE READ THIS ASSIGNMENT AND KNOWINGLY AND WILLINGLY AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ITS TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
